I was Betty snd Av’d hairdresser for many years. They were wonderful gun people. I always enjoyed talking with them. They knew my family from the salon and were always gracious to them. We spoke of art, gardening and New Orleans also. I have happy memories. A pleasure to have known them.

Betty and I were neighbors, kindred gardeners, friends and fellow old Girl Scouts. Betty was a wonderful woman who led a fascinating life. I loved hearing stories of her “Camp Follower” days…following Av around before the war, world travels and of her days as a Girl Scout. We shared a passion for gardening and exchanged ideas and flowers. This world has lost a kind and beautiful spirit and her “Knox Daughters” will miss her terribly but treasure our wonderful memories. Free and at peace…Karen George

We were saddened to hear about Betty’s passing. We always remember her very fondly as next door neighbors for many years on Knox Avenue. May she be able to continue her art and have a new “garden” where she can plant away. We have many fond memories of spending time with her and Av in the backyard admiring her handy work. Rest in Peace Betty, you are now free!
